Earth Unplugged was the first BBC YouTube channel for original content. Utilizing a variety of technology to capture a vast array of animal behaviour and science content, the channel has innovatively turned traditional wildlife film making on its head and re-structured it for the YouTube generation. Creating short form films that deliver not only stunning visuals that any blue-chip production would be proud of but also in depth biological and scientific information that engages viewers directly. Since launching in November 2012 it’s received over 39 million views has over 300,000 subscribers. Winner of the Best New Media at Wildscreen’s 2015 Panda Awards:

Earth - One Amazing Day
BBC Earth and China have a long history of powerful documentary co-productions. Following a treaty ratified earlier this year, it was announced on Wednesday that BBC Earth would produce a feature-length follow-up to the 2007 documentary Earth, in partnership with the Chinese firm SMG Pictures. Earth: One Amazing Day (working title) is due for release in 2017.
Round Planet, a comedy archive series is in production for BBC Earth Channel, due to be delivered early 2016.
Following on from the success of Roxy’s Island Adventure for Orbi Yokohama, Rise of the Temple King, our monkey film is launching soon and development has started for another two films for next year. With two new sites at Osaka and Dubai opening in early 2016, our films will now be shown at all three screens.
