Indies risk ‘selling the golden goose’ by handing their  IP to SVoD players, says Patrick Holland

BBC2 channel controller Patrick Holland has warned that the indie sector is in danger of being seduced by digital giants Facebook, Apple, Amazon, Netflix and Google (FAANG).

He said producers risk “selling the golden goose” by striking deals that hand over IP entirely to the digital players and will miss out on the creative input the BBC can offer if they take ideas to the likes of Netflix.
