It’s not all long lunches and holidays – this is a demanding, pressurised role, says commissioner-turned-producer Rachel Job

Having spent several years in a channel environment in various programming roles, including commissioning, it has always struck me how much ‘commissioner bashing’ there is in this industry.

I have to assume that some of it is justified, but I think a lot of it comes from a simple lack of understanding of how the channel environment really works.


Now, I’m going to say something highly controversial: commissioners work hard.
