Outside the Box: Netflix and the future of television. Part One: A Potted History

This month NHN has reported the Netflix commission of Our Planet from Silverback Films and announced their plans to commission more factual entertainment shows from UK indies. During peak hours, Netflix accounts for more than thirty per cent of all Internet down-streaming traffic in North America, nearly twice that of YouTube, its closest competitor.

 

The Netflix Website describes the company as “the world’s leading Internet television network.”
