Natural History Network announcement

Natural History Network announcement

18th September 2019

Today we are thrilled to announce that the Natural History Network has a new home. After 8 years, the Networks founders, Lizzie Green and Vicky Halliwell, are handing over the organisation into the safe hands of Wildscreen.

Natural History Network was launched in 2011 to support the global wildlife TV business through news, events, networking and talent recruitment.  It has established itself as a hugely respected cornerstone of the wildlife production ecosystem, with over 300+ individual members and 25+ company members.

With a flourishing international membership and an appetite for more events and activity, Lizzie and Vicky felt that the organisation could truly thrive and grow if it was supported within a bigger organisation. With over three decades of experience, knowledge and dedication to supporting the wildlife storytelling community, and the infrastructure, resource and ambition required to evolve the Network, Wildscreen offers the only natural home for it.

Laura Marshall, Chair of Wildscreen, said: “We are excited to announce the incredibly generous donation of the Natural History Network to the Wildscreen charity. The Network is a natural fit for Wildscreen and our vision for year-round global convening and collaboration of the wildlife content industry and conservationists. We are so very thankful to Lizzie and Vicky for their foresight and commitment to building such an amazing community of the wildlife film industry and we are excited to evolve and nurture it for its members."

The day-to-day management of the Network will from today be looked after by Lucie Muir, Wildscreen CEO and Molly Gibney, Wildscreen Co-ordinator.

Over the coming weeks and months, Wildscreen looks forward to hearing your ideas for how the community can better support the industry and build upon the strong foundations built by Lizzie and Vicky.

If you have any feedback or questions, please get in touch with the Wildscreen team.
