NHN statement on COVID-19

17th March 2020

In light of the increasing concern around COVID-19 (Coronavirus) we want to reassure our community that we are monitoring the situation closely.

Natural History Network's purpose is to bring people in the natural history community together and to act as a focal hub for sharing the latest industry news.

In light of the increasing concern around COVID-19 (Coronavirus) we want to reassure our community that we are monitoring the situation closely.

It is of utmost important to us to communicate regularly with our stakeholders including our sponsors, members, community, staff and public. As of the 17 March the Wildscreen/ NHN team are working from home.

Following the most recent guidance by the UK Government, we have cancelled all Wildscreen events scheduled until July 2020. This includes all scheduled Natural History Networking mornings which are usually held on the third Thursday of each month and our diversity in wildlife TV event which was scheduled for the 17th of June. We are exploring online alternatives for delivering our future events.

We will continue to monitor the situation, and will of course adapt as necessary over the coming weeks and months to ensure the health and safety of our stakeholders, responding to guidelines from the UK government.

We continue to plan for the Wildscreen Festival 2020, Wildscreen’s biggest event, which is scheduled to take place in Bristol, UK between 19-23 October. With the help and support of the Festival Advisory Board, we are working hard to curate and deliver the most impactful Festival in our 38-year history for us all to enjoy.

We will continue to monitor this evolving situation closely, taking any necessary action as required and share timely updates. We have also established a Facebook Group for NHN Members to discuss industry updates and share support and advice with the natural history community.

Stay safe and take care of each other,

Team Wildscreen/ NHN
